Hello,
we dealt with the topic of tiles for our new building for the first time yesterday. We looked at some models and we also like a few models. Now my question. We have not yet requested the price for the tile, as we have not dealt much with tile prices yet. What do you think is a reasonable price for a "mid-range" tile?
I know that there are tiles from €3 to XXX€, but I would like to have a rough reference point.

Thank you very much

Hi "here could be your name",

BeHaElja was a bit faster. I would also say that you can get something decent for around 30 euros/sqm, from 40-50 euros the luxury tiles slowly begin.

But don't forget the installation costs. Do you already have those included in your house costs? That can also be another 40 €/sqm, meaning it can quickly become more expensive than the tiles themselves!

Best regards,

Andreas

Can you say that so categorically?

Since we have many wood-look tiles, the price there was a bit higher than 30€, because you can see the difference in texture between simple and high-quality tiles.
Our kitchen backsplash 120x60, for example, was over 100€/m².
On the other hand, the tile price for the utility room and laundry room was under 10€.

Installation costs or, with the general contractor, the additional costs for different tile sizes and different installation patterns, the costs for (stainless steel) edges/corners, baseboards, sealing, and different grout colors can also add up quite a bit.

I don’t have the exact numbers in my head anymore, but I think we needed about 100€/m² all in across all rooms.

What does it say in the BB or are you building via individual contracting?

I paid between 40 and 50 EUR/m² for formats 30x60 during my bathroom renovation. Floor tiles were at the upper end of the price range due to a higher slip resistance class (level-access shower). I don't know the prices for the mosaic tiles at the moment, but I didn't need that many anyway. PS: I had 2-3 spare packages delivered each time in case something needs to be repaired later and the tiles are no longer available.
