What kind of flooring do you want? We went for the sample appointment on Friday - country house plank parquet starts at about 50 euros per sqm. Vinyl or laminate is of course cheaper.

Those are just the material costs - do you also have costs per sqm for installation?

We have offers for about €70 per m² for flooring (vinyl, fully glued down, with leveling compound and skirting boards).

If you install click vinyl yourself, including impact sound insulation, you can probably get it for €20-25 plus skirting boards plus your own labor.
That is certainly possible, but then €5-6k is already gone just for the floor.
The budget is definitely not enough for parquet!

For the rest, buying wallpaper + paint and doing it yourself is probably possible too.
But then no craftsmen must be paid.

Just get quotes for the trades separately, then you will have certainty. Call a painter on Monday, send an email with measurements.
Do the same for the floor. Then you can still apply the red pen.

Perfect, thanks for your detailed answer. Since these jobs won’t be due for about a year, I didn’t want to bother people/companies with (possibly) unnecessary quotes now. At the moment, I’m more interested in a (rough) cost estimate for the entire project.

Have you ever thought about 2nd choice parquet or similar, e.g. from Meister or Haro etc.? We laid 200 sqm of oak here, almost no waste or if so, then under furniture, this material is technically top-notch and was about €25/sqm. We will put something like that in the new house again. Don’t worry, it’s not junk, for me it’s first choice!
