Hello,

I am building a single-family house with a 98 sqm foundation slab. According to the soil survey, I have to excavate 80 cm.

Furthermore, I have to construct a 20-meter construction road (3 meters wide) with 45 cm excavation filled with recycled gravel.

The utility lines are 6 meters away. The soil remains on the property.

How do you estimate the prices for:

1. Foundation cushion with recycled gravel 98 sqm 80 cm deep including frost apron.
2. 20-meter construction road (3 meters wide) with 45 cm excavation filled with recycled gravel.
3. Installing utility connections. Lines are located 6 meters away.

Hello Steinbauer,

of course, estimates can be given here. However, at the end of the day, they won't help you much because it can vary greatly depending on the region. Both the labor cost and even more so the disposal costs of the excavation.
Why should the latter remain on the property? At least most of it you will certainly have to dispose of, won't you...?

Get concrete offers from 2-3 civil engineers from the region, then you will know where you stand and where the differences lie.

As far as the excavation is concerned, you have to take a closer look at the property. Roughly estimated, you have 50cbm of topsoil (30cm thick) and 60cbm of subsoil. That's not little, but it can still be distributed relatively well (15-30cm high). The property also doesn't seem to be very small if the construction road is 20m long. Alternatively, for example, it makes sense to place the hedge on a small mound or to pile up a play hill for the children. What makes sense depends heavily on the property. Under certain circumstances, it also makes sense to dig a little less deep and let the house and construction road come out a bit from the original terrain. Then pile the excavation next to it.
