Hello dear forum members,

soon the construction of our house (southern Germany area with an architect) will start. We have already been able to take a lot of information and experience from this great forum and hope to be able to give something back in the future through our experiences.

At the moment, the costs for the electrical installation on our trade / offer list seem much too high to us.

The house has about 164 sqm to be supplied with electrical installations (light switches, sockets, LAN, 15 spotlights). Apart from a desired (video) intercom system for the front door, there are no special features (no smart home, etc.). Given the number of planned sockets, light switches, etc., we did not want to cut corners – therefore it can be described as rather well-equipped but not overloaded.

The first offers have now come in at just over 28,000 gross. The costs we know from other builders (similar equipment or even better) are far below that. These ranged from 8,000 (normal standard) to 15,000 (upscale standard).

How did this item look for you, if you consider it comparable?

Best regards

How is one supposed to compare if you haven't provided any information about the equipment? But I find 28k extremely overpriced per se if you really don't have any frills. Have you gotten a quote yet?

What information about the equipment should we provide? Number of sockets, switches, etc.? BTW - Light bulbs are not yet included in the 28k.

Maybe you could summarize that - how is one supposed to say whether something is expensive if one doesn't know what is being installed.

So summarize how many connection points, how many sockets, multimedia, network, etc. - there are more details, but whatever.

Switch program?

Again: Have you obtained an offer first?
