That is clear to me. But as writes... what are the alternatives?
- You can't get existing properties for less than 400k either, and then a major renovation is due. You don't save much on the installment and you have to get the houses first. Everything we looked at was swamped.
- Building much cheaper is also difficult, unfortunately building has become so expensive. You might be able to pinch off 20-30k somewhere, but that's it. That also has little influence on the installment.
- Renting an apartment is only somewhat comparable to owning a house. And you are already paying a thousand for that. Of course, it may be that you have a super great apartment with a garden and a nice landlord who doesn't want to make money off it. Then stay there. But usually it looks different.
- Rent a house? That is relatively rare and then you certainly won't get it for 1000€.
You see, no matter how you turn and twist it, none of the alternatives really get cheaper

That means, at 55 you still have 260k€ left to pay. With the same interest rate and same installment, then another 15 years. With 2,400 € per month (and the same interest rate), "only" 10 years left.

Hello, I don’t quite understand, what do you mean by €2400 per month? Could you explain that to me briefly?

Did I overlook it or is the upcoming solar obligation (Photovoltaics) already taken into account

Hm… If you continue to pay the 1699€ after 20 years (with the same interest rate), it takes 15 years (until age 70) to repay, with 2400€ you are done in 10 years (at 65).
