Ok. So the mistake was on the craftsman’s side – he also had the wall box?

So it was clear down to the centimeter where the cable runs and the craftsman also knew? By the way, with the 180 mm pipe he would have had even more problems and would have had to move the core drilling much further. That would have worked?

So you have (unfortunately) an exhaust system that fits the hood exactly.

What would I do? Talk to him and hold out your hand – let him say what compensation he imagines. Although you don’t have any real damage (unless you couldn’t return the wrong wall box), since the exhaust fits the hood. Maybe even with the same exhaust capacity as with the 150 mm pipe.

Don’t worry too much. You have to chalk a lot of this up to bad luck. Look forward to the house and the kitchen instead.

I did core drilling with a 152 mm core bit and got the 150 mm pipe through there without any problems. Sure, with a 150 mm hole it gets tighter, but with Vaseline or something similar I could imagine that you can get through. If you ever feel like swapping it later on. By the way, my pipe measurements are outer diameters.

Due to the structural conditions, it was not possible to go along the ceiling through the wall, but the hole had to be placed about 15-20 cm below the ceiling. That means two angles would have been needed, and that would probably have been deeper than the aforementioned 15-20 cm, at least that's what the kitchen planner explained. If it could have been solved differently, then the information/advice was likely not correct.

If I remember correctly, no. Therefore, the responsibility probably lies with me as well. However – don’t take it the wrong way – I would expect the professional to ask me about it.

Yes. But he didn’t want to accept it. In hindsight, I should have cancelled the whole thing in that situation...

That’s exactly how we want to approach it.

Thank you :) I have gained a few experiences and now know that it is okay to communicate clearly what exactly is to be implemented.

I will definitely change it again when the other "construction sites" are finished. Maybe I’ll buy Vaseline for that ;)

Many thanks for the feedback. I found it very helpful. Best regards to all!
