The named system achieved a heating output of max. 49W/sqm in the test with pipe spacing 18.5/9.5/9.5. In the conventionally offered system, the tested output is 45W/sqm (r = 250mm).
The reaction time ranges from 120min to 650min (ON/OFF depending on the chosen system), which is rather slower than a modern underfloor heating.

..In my KfW 40 house, the flow/return temperature when only the cores in the 250 mm grid are activated is about 45°C to 42°C (outside minus 16°C). When simultaneously operating a tiled stove and an additional heat source in the bathroom, this is sufficient.

..When both pipe systems are operated simultaneously (= buffer and heating in the ceiling), the flow/return temperature at outside minus 16 can be lowered to 27°C to 24°C. Ideal for our air heat pump.

The majority of single-family houses are built without sufficient heating planning!

UNFORTUNATELY, UNFORTUNATELY. Whoever buys a car asks for data such as fuel consumption, insurance, TÜV, etc., even if it is an old clunker for €500. With heating, it's generally quickly about €20,000 to €50,000. But builders and developers only ask for a piece of heating. Hardly understandable.

Manufacturers always specify the heat flux density emitted to the room! The respective loss power is in the hands of the planner!

Omitting the ceiling plaster without comment is already harsh, as, in reality, systems are always processed with plaster. Especially with ceiling heating, which tend to be more powerful and faster-responding than underfloor heating to achieve optimal results, this can quickly become a problem for planners unfamiliar with this type of heating. Also, with dry construction systems, "active area," "installed area," and "degree of occupancy" are regularly mixed up cheerfully and as needed.

Well, is that sensible with an air heat pump?!

Probably not. But that's just my personal opinion. Moreover, there are cases where the ceiling is only used to support other systems. Unfortunately, we do not know the overall system here.

With the same supply temperatures, I am currently calculating a residential complex with several thousand square meters. It's always exciting. Because with ceiling heating, experience shows that the calculated values are quickly undershot by 3-10K. This is simply due to the lower room temperature (with the same comfort), the exterior surfaces being warmer and thus drier and better insulating, and the resulting lower transmission and ventilation losses.

12831 has been revised several times and the national annex has also been changed. Experienced planners know the pitfalls.

So we stay in practice and always have something new to read.
