Hello everyone

Our kitchen builder has presented us with the first proposal for the kitchen. Two points are not quite ordinary:

1.
Since we wanted a very bright kitchen, we now have 2 windows each 2.20m. The cooktop is located under one of these windows. The distance from the cooktop to the window is 36cm. At the place where the cooktop is, the window is fixed with screws. From your point of view, is there anything against this? That the window needs to be cleaned more often is understood ;-)

2.
Because of the window, he suggested a ceiling extractor fan. Now my question: has anyone already had experience with such fans? Does it remove the smell well? Doesn’t the grease spread throughout the house?

I am grateful for any tip, advice, or constructive suggestion.

Regards
Fredclever

Hello fredclever,

So I think it is okay that this window part is screwed in there. I also find the distance of 36 cm to be fine.

We also have a ceiling fan from WESCO and we are very satisfied with it. It removes the dirty air from the area already during cooking. The fresh air ensures a pleasant climate. The grease is well captured by the grease filter. This way I don’t have any grease in the house.

Best regards

Hi Jonas

thank you for your feedback. Since the ceiling fan is not so common, it's not so easy to get information.

What is the distance from the cooktop to the fan in your case? Which model are you using? How is the noise? Is a ceiling fan louder than a "normal" hood?

I would be grateful for your answers.

Best regards
Fredclever

Hi,
I am not Jonas, but I still want to add my two cents.

We have the ceiling fan EVRC 3 and it runs quietly. However, I have no comparison to the extractor hood. But I think there isn’t much difference.

The width is 60 cm and the depth is 30 cm. This ceiling fan is located directly under our suspended ceiling. In this part, there are also 2 grease filters that absorb the grease well.

We are completely satisfied.
Best regards

Hello,
Thank you very much for this information. I will present it to my husband because I am also in favor of a ceiling fan. However, he is not. But I will convince him. In any case, this presented model also meets my expectations.
Best regards
