Hello everyone,

We are building a Kfw70 house. We would very much like to install a range hood with exhaust.

Is that possible?

Are there special controlled residential ventilation systems that "support" this?

Best regards, Barossi

Hello, yes, that is possible. Search in the forum for Druckwächter, there you should find everything important about it. Edit: Sorry, you need a Druckwächter for a chimney. Controlled residential ventilation and exhaust hood should also work that way.

Yep, we did it that way and you only need the correct [Wächter] with a chimney.

I’m very glad that we have a vented extractor hood - no comparison to the recirculating stinkers anymore.

Hello,

perfect!

We also have a tiled stove, so we will need the window switch for that.

Does exhaust air work with every controlled residential ventilation system? We have not decided yet.

Best regards, Barossi

The controlled residential ventilation doesn't care - you need a pressure switch. Discuss all of this with the district chimney sweep - and do it now!

Over the weekend, we noticed very well how important a pressure switch is in connection with the chimney and controlled residential ventilation.

Our range hood only works if the window is open - primarily not because of the chimney (but of course required), but because otherwise it hardly works well in an insulated house.

Objection
Berbel exhaust hood with activated carbon filter and you can’t even smell fried fish... For example, I often make fries (fried) and have no problems, no smell at all. However, it is also quite expensive and the filter eventually has to be regenerated or replaced.
We have had ours for 2 years now and the first filter is still good. With daily cooking and about twice a week fries additionally.

However, the heat stays inside, which is more of an issue in our small kitchen... Because then not only the cook sweats, but also the fridge and freezer.
