Hi,
I will bring this topic back to life. I informed our builder that we intend to record the construction with a time-lapse camera. From his side, everything is relaxed; he also passes it on to his crew like that. I think if you mention it, it’s rather uncritical than if you keep it secret. Otherwise, you make yourself "suspicious" about the intention behind doing something like this.
I just think it’s cool when you watch time-lapse videos on the internet. As a keepsake for later, I definitely think it’s great.
For the recording, I got us a Brinno TLC200 f1.2. I will place it at the neighbor’s and record the construction from there. On Sunday, we will check if it’s sufficient to place the camera on the opposite windowsill or if it must go on the roof. Outdoor mounts and an outdoor housing are included.
Some calculation skill is required to figure out how often a picture should be taken. I actually don’t want the video to be longer than 10 minutes in the end. That would be boring. At 30 frames/second (for the video) and a construction period of 6-8 months, where work should only be done between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm daily, it should be enough to take a picture every 5 to 6 minutes....
I’m really curious how that will turn out...
