Exactly that is the point, in 2016 there was apparently a change in the law according to which ownership alone is no longer sufficient to obtain construction financing. My father is unfortunately very stubborn, he admits that it was his oversight that the mill looks the way it does but he says he transferred the properties to me so I should figure out how to manage. It would also be enough if he gave up the usufruct on the second apartment located in the multi-family house, the Postbank advisor explained to me that it would increase the value if the house is divided not as a whole but, in this case, into 3 separate condominiums and is measured beforehand, but my father also does not want that because he says he wants to keep the second apartment so that he can use it as a retreat. So basically I have two houses but one is so much in need of renovation that moving in is not possible and with the other one I do receive the 600 euros rent from the rented apartment but my parents keep two apartments even though they only occupy one. I first have to discuss this with my partner and then consider if and how to proceed. I am slowly beginning to suspect that the most sensible thing would be to just leave the mill to itself.
