The overwhelming majority of electric car drivers then simply replace the entire car every three years on a regular basis when the lease expires. Sure, morally and environmentally it’s a disaster, but hey, that’s how it’s intended.

Oh, I thought this was about what makes sense for society and not about saving a few cents for the upper class.

You don't seriously believe that changing the drive and energy source in a vehicle will change consumption behavior?

We are currently just experiencing a restructuring of the industry to a different energy source. But nothing at all will change in the behavior and the amount of individual traffic. Well, because of the prices, the "ordinary people" probably won't be able to afford cars anymore. Because I don't see that everything (not just the purchase) will become cheaper anytime soon. Eventually, when there are "enough" so-called "environmentally friendly" electric vehicles on the road, the funding pools will also be closed.

It is good to see the whole picture and your question marks are justified. I like to write what I hope for:
[*]The widespread use of decentralized battery systems has a grid-stabilizing or demand-smoothing effect. This is advantageous for the use of non-constantly produced renewable energy. The energy transition is accelerated. [*]Further boost for battery technology, making investments in research and development more lucrative and ensuring that batteries become more resource-efficient, recyclable, cheaper, and with higher energy density. Even if current batteries are not problematic, better ones will reach the market faster and in larger quantities. [*]The spread of batteries for storing climate-friendly energy leads to higher acceptance and enables more and more people to imagine phasing out fossil energy. Resistance decreases, drive increases, even if it is not perfect, the direction of minds counts extremely much.
Twenty years ago, only a few people could imagine buying things on the internet. Those who started early got a bloody nose and were ridiculed. Many stuck with it and more and more people overcame their fears. Today no one laughs about it anymore and everyone understands the principal advantages. That is how I want it with renewable energy. More and more people participating and a good ending for the pioneers who are still being ridiculed at the moment. Today webshops look completely different than 20 years ago. That is exactly how it will be with the deployed technology. Current batteries will quickly be technically surpassed – and still contribute their part. Funding makes it attractive where it is not yet economically viable on its own.

Gentlemen, please seriously, using a bit of brain doesn't hurt: currently unused energy should be pooled more sensibly than temporarily taken out of circulation and senselessly carted around. The fact that the carting vehicle also uses this energy makes this nonsense at most a little less perverse. We should return to acting guided by reason rather than subsidy-driven!
