Connect Ikea Inreda spotlight to the power grid

Are the halogen spotlights built into the furniture? There are also LED lights for the halogen socket.

The question of permissibility: This system is plug-ready and approved for that. Once you cut off the plug and choose a different wiring, the warranty expires and you are liable for all resulting damages.
The cross-section of the cable itself is okay, because whether it's a socket or a fixed connection, the same current is applied.
The type of cable has to do with the installation, whether flush-mounted, surface-mounted, in a hollow wall.... Ansluta is intended for surface mounting or cable duct.

Another solution would be to install the matching plug of the Ansluta connection cable at the wall outlet, then you could plug the set directly there without cutting the cable or making any structural changes.

Yes, that's the cable I mean. But don't cut off any plug. One plug goes into the transformer, for the free plug get the matching counterpart. Then mount this plug at the wall outlet. That should be easier since the wires are already stripped and as wire don't need end sleeves. This way you have a clean plug connection, plug it in and it should light up. Best regards Nordkäppchen

Finding a suitable counterpart is probably not that easy. Such a construction seems critical and not VDE-compliant to me. We have no idea how the installation looks on site. Everyone probably has a different picture in mind here. I can only say here, get an electrician you trust.
