Hi
we had planned the same combination. Because of the small utility room, the builder recommended the Vitodens 343 to us, since storage and heating are combined in one device. Unfortunately, the storage only has 220l, but with only 2 people in the household and only a shower bathroom, I don't see a problem.
If there is enough space, and if more people might also want to take baths, the storage can never be big enough.
Layer storage tanks are often used with the combination of two heat sources, here gas and solar. The more expensive source heats only the upper part of the storage tank if needed, when the cheaper source cannot deliver. This way, only part of the storage is heated expensively. Since the hot water is drawn from the top of the storage tank, there is no loss of comfort.
The cheaper heat source, on the other hand, is supposed to warm the entire storage and therefore has its heat exchanger at the bottom of the tank. Ideally, the entire storage content is at the desired temperature or above and can be used without the more expensive heat source coming into play.
The larger the tank, the better this works.
