In the elevations you can clearly see with the naked eye that the roof pitches are different. Why didn't you object to that? The architect also bears some responsibility. You are only losing usable storage space. Your change request is disproportionate. As already pointed out, we are talking about approx. 19 m3 of converted space * 400 euros = 7,600 euros. I would deduct this amount from the construction sum (roof sum).

I'm really not a troublemaker, but the lack of storage space can be really significant for the use of the house, depending on the planning, hobby, and amount to be stored. The "merely" is quite relative. As an alternative, the OP could also have a possibly already planned luxury garden shed built as compensation.

In any case, I see my compensation proposal as an absolute win-win: relatively because it is roughly cost-neutral and only a symbolic little slap for the general contractor, and the OP exchanges inconveniently accessible storage space 1:1 for the same "amount" of conveniently accessible space. His contribution to the peace pipe is 9 square meters of floor area in the building setback, where it doesn't hurt. The feeling of satisfaction from a financial compensation would quickly dissipate, but the annoyance over the lost cubic meters of storage space in the attic would last longer. I see the garden house as an adequate variant to my proposal with the storage room.

The theoretical m3 of enclosed space were never really fully usable.

2 m line 25 degrees 4 m2, 30 degrees 10 m2 = - 6 m2

1 m line 25 degrees 37 m2, 30 degrees 42 m2 = - 5 m2 *0.5 = - 2.5 m2

8.5 m2 * 1200 Euro / m2 = 10,200 Euro.
