Hello everyone,

I urgently need your help. I applied for construction power through an electrician. Since the electrician does not rent out construction power distributors, I obtained one myself from a rental service.

The network operator came yesterday and connected the construction power distributor I rented to the network.

Today I checked on the construction site to see if the power was working. There was only a label inside the construction power distributor saying "Power up to the main switch." I then activated the main switch and inserted the fuses. The load break switch was also inserted. However, I am not getting any power from the sockets. Do any other connections need to be made on the construction power distributor? I assumed the network operator would take care of that. Allegedly, power should be available up to the main switch. How did it work for you?

On Tuesday I have to submit a completion notification and on Thursday the basement builder is coming!

Thanks for your help!

Hello, that can and must be done by your electrician. You can't possibly judge what doesn't work there. So get a professional, you are paying him anyway!!

Meter installed? The network operator is only responsible up to the transfer point. After that, it’s yours.

It was like this with us: electrician for the construction site power box, provider for the electricity. We had to take care of both.

but tell me: what is your problem now or what is being done?

What does the electrician say about it? Actually, it is his responsibility, of course it must be contractually/order-wise documented. The VNB is responsible, as in the house, only up to the transfer point / meter. Everything beyond that concerns him little... Hopefully you are aware that construction power distributors must be checked before commissioning, additionally daily RCD tests (also to be carried out by the user), monthly and semi-annual electrical measurements, visual inspections, ISO measurements, etc. by a professional.
