Combine photovoltaics with air-water heat pump heating + domestic hot water

we would like to install photovoltaics on the roof of the new building. Now our electrician said that it is not possible to combine photovoltaics with a heat pump because the heat pump has a different meter than the photovoltaic system.

Can a professional confirm this for me or suggest a solution that is also cost-effective :-)

I do not understand your electrician's statement. There are now heat pumps that can be well combined with a [Photovoltaic System].

Apart from that, we also have a heat pump as well as a [Photovoltaic System]. Even if both devices do not communicate with each other, I consider it sensible (at least for us). We do not have heat pump electricity; everything runs through one meter. However, we also have a generally high self-consumption (washing machine loads with three small children, home office with various electronic devices).

Purely based on the annual yield, we are self-sufficient, but we have to feed in during the day and draw electricity in the evening/night.

You can purchase a separate meter for the heat pump electricity. Then the heat pump is connected to this meter and the rest goes through the household electricity meter. You can either connect the photovoltaic system to the heat pump, so that you generate electricity for the heat pump, or to your household electricity. We have the configuration as your electrician describes it. A heat pump meter and a meter for household electricity where the photovoltaic system is connected. Surpluses are fed in.

Without storage? We have photovoltaic systems with lithium-ion storage; the air-water heat pump is also controlled via that.

If I were you, I would ask your utility provider how much longer a separate meter for the air-water heat pump will be offered; from my point of view, this is manageable since the consumption costs will align with those of household electricity.

I have checked and you are right. It is no longer worth installing another meter. I have attached my calculations!

What would now still be the question to make the thing more profitable is a storage or a controller that increases self-consumption! Such a controller surely costs around €500, with a small storage the controller is probably already included?

Do you have a "paper" where you have checked the profitability of the storage?

The domestic hot water can still be decoupled from the heating heat pump and an extra domestic hot water heat pump can be purchased, which is then controlled by the [Photovoltaik Überschuss]. Such devices are available from 80 liters (for the wall) up to the normal 300 L models. Prices start from 700 euros.
