Column cladding living / dining room

Hello everyone,
we have 2 round columns (16.5 diameter) standing in the living and dining area that I would like to cover round and white. Does anyone have ideas on how to do this best? Or does anyone perhaps have pictures of how it was done on the floor with the tiles like below?

Just paint them.

Place the tiles close together and either seal with silicone joint or connect with [Rosette].

Painting is a good idea, but the column is not completely smooth. I would rather cover it... but with what? Styrofoam? You can see every dent if someone bumps into it...

Then either sand or fill and sand afterwards, then brush on.

But you will need a painter for that who can do more than just whitewash wallpaper. It will also cost a few euros.

They have already been sanded. but there are still little lumps on them... I was thinking more of a covering.

A painter knows what to do to make it smooth and flawless. Preferably also in effect colors. I would also have it painted and that's it.
