In addition to the above-mentioned (savings) points, it should also be mentioned:

It is often the deviations from the standard that make the house individual and "my house." These deviations from the standard usually incur a surcharge. This unique selling proposition (Alleinstellungsmerkmal) is often worth the surcharge to the builder.

What surprises me a bit here (because we recently had a discussion about this with our architect) is that slab foundations (thickness approx. 30 cm) are cheaper than strip foundations. He explicitly recommended strip foundations to us. He has repeatedly experienced that strip foundations and the "thinner" slab (15 cm) are more cost-effective due to the lower reinforcement required, even considering the more complex excavation for strip foundations. If there are experience values here, I would like to learn more about them at this point.

Thank you.

I didn’t mean the construction of the foundation slab, but simply that it is cheaper to build without a basement

No typos (forgot zero)? Alone the floor plan extension results in roughly 27 m² more floor space. Very roughly, regardless of the number of floors, one can safely assume that it also results in 27 m² more living space. Times 1400 euros leads to over 35,000 euros. Therefore, I would have believed 30,000 euros; at 3000 euros I would say: Definitely do it and immediately ask if 15.5 m by 15 m is also possible. Or demand 10 m by 11 m and then enlarge :P Noise protection plaster? What is that? Only 300 euros?

Floor-to-ceiling tiled shower (1 piece?) 3500.- surcharge??? Even an Aco shower drain costs about 500.- € plus 1-2m² tiles. The shower tray/board is omitted for that, the rest should be pretty much the same. For 3500.- at least 3-4 showers can be "upgraded"...
