Significant engineering costs are included in the price of a branded winter garden.
.
I do not dispute that either. But with the cold winter gardens I looked at, I couldn't see any significant differences. Main difference: I have 8mm instead of 10mm laminated safety glass. Otherwise pretty much the same.
My cold winter garden, including installation, cost less than 40% of the mentioned amount. Without awnings. 4x5m, including glass wedges.
As mentioned, a strip foundation is not necessary; with us, the guide rail rests on an aluminum carrier.
A slight slope is not a problem; we have that too. The sliding doors are not so easy to move that they would roll away due to 2 degrees. Besides, the rail can be slightly raised at the front area, which doesn’t really bother. I can gladly take a detailed photo.
Daniel, may I ask which manufacturer you went with? I find the market quite confusing and am therefore looking for tips... Best regards, Yann
