Hello, I moved into my Hanse Haus in October 2023. A bungalow without a basement. All rooms – except the bathroom and guest toilet – are fitted with Kronoflooring Klickvinyl H2O. Underneath is impact sound insulation. All rooms are separated by expansion joints – additionally, the large living area is separated from the kitchen. Our big problem: the floor makes loud crunchy noises in several places. As if large grains of sand were being crushed. You can hear it, for example, in the living room when someone walks in the hallway. Or in the bedroom when I walk out of the bathroom. It’s really annoying. What could be the causes of this? Hanse Haus is keeping pretty quiet. What would be the next steps to increase the pressure there?

Sounds like it really wasn’t properly cleaned before installation and now you have sand, grains, or similar between the insulation and vinyl. The only solution is to take it out, clean it thoroughly, and redo it.

Have you already made a proper notice of defects? If not, that would be the next step. If yes, demand rectification again, if necessary through a lawyer.

No, because we are still under the supervision of the site manager. It was said that we have to report our complaints to him. After several months of delay, other defects were also fixed. Our seller helped us to achieve the goal. With the flooring, we don’t want to be that patient – it’s incredibly annoying.

Then send your site manager a proper notice of defects with a deadline. Without a deadline, you can hardly tighten the thumbscrews further.
