Hello everyone,
I have the following problem. Tiles were removed in the guest bathroom and it is supposed to be redone. However, not all walls are to be tiled anymore, but partially wallpapered or plastered. Now I still have adhesive residues on the wall, which are difficult to remove. And even if I manage to remove everything, the wall is not really even afterwards.
At the hardware store, I found some kind of insulating boards that are not very thick and can be wallpapered directly.

Can something like this be applied to the walls without any problems? It would save me the tedious filling, etc.
Or do you have any other tips? From my point of view, certainly not a solution for everywhere, but I find it sufficient for the guest bathroom. If I understood the tiler correctly, he wanted to panel such a wall in the main bathroom as well, but with a Wedi board. Thanks

So you might also use insulation boards, but basically I would most likely cover the wall with drywall panels or something similar (e.g. Wedi). You can also glue them on, but for a guest bathroom a green moisture-resistant drywall panel should be sufficient.

The only problem is that the Wedi board is ridged, not flat. That's why I thought of this board. Gypsum board is definitely thicker than 4mm, or are there also such thin boards?

Wedi or drywall. Both work well. On construction sites, one centimeter is not a measurement.

Renoboard - as far as I know, 6mm (plasterboard). Just stick it on. Cheap, quick, smooth - then wallpaper, paint or tile.

Gypsum board is available in 9mm + adhesive. Spackling wallpapering = good and cheap!
