Hello,

we have a small open gallery and recently had a steel stringer staircase installed. There are now screws sticking out and it doesn't look good visually. I am attaching pictures. Do you have any ideas on how to solve this?

Glue the entire page with the parquet? Or with a steel plate, either in brushed stainless steel or in the side panel color. Or cover it with a plasterboard and paint over it again.

Who installed the staircase for you?? The locksmith/stair builder could or should have planned that from the start and could have installed a steel stringer or something similar.

Do you mean the two brackets in picture 1? Plaster over and paint the brackets in the gray tone like the stairs. Then it will look visually fitting again. But they don’t, and it’s not their task if it’s a general contractor (GU) house with special work (air space). I just assume it’s a GU. The GU should point out the missing positions and coordinate this service together with the special service "air space," but that doesn’t work with the GUs. If you don’t have a craftsman who offers it on their own, then that’s how it is. The more special things you want, the more reasons there are not to build with a GU. A plasterer won’t come back for two holes, etc. For the side in picture 2: Remove the glue yourself with a spatula and then paint white afterwards. Pre-covering it takes away the aesthetics.

...which is why I also wrote could/should have.

I don't know the background.
This isn't elegant at all. Who installed the parquet? If there wasn’t a steel stringer or something similar there before, then you’d put an angle/profile or something like that there. Didn’t the parquet installer ask how to finish that?

And the joint edge of the parquet? Just leave it like that?

Strange situation.

If the plaster edge finishes cleanly with the wood, I would (I) leave it like that, yes. Why introduce a third material?
