Cistern installation

I am currently planning the new building including the garden.
Now the question is where to place the cistern.
The cistern will only be used for the garden.

I have labeled the possible positions with 1 - 3.

What is the best possible position for this if we assume that only the garden should be watered.

The placement doesn't matter. I know some families who simply placed the cistern under the terrace. The only important thing is that the rainwater gets a proper (and cost-effective) supply line to the cistern and that you then have short distances to the tapping point again.

Then I will tend to 3. In the meantime, I also have the information that not all the water has to be collected. Fortunately, it is enough to only direct it into the canal at the driveway, because otherwise I would have a problem with 3.
