Does any of you have a Vallox device and can tell me if it has a bypass installed and if it controls itself automatically? When I connect to the device, I can see at the bottom that I can turn the bypass on and off. It is currently set to on. However, what surprises me is the following: When I look at the supply air, room air, and exhaust air, I assume that the bypass is not working. When we had 33 degrees, temperatures of 27 degrees were led into the house during the day. Did this drop from 33 to 27 degrees happen because of the bypass? Or is that simply due to the normal heat recovery?
We also have a Vallox 350MV-E and I had to read up on the subject myself because the company that installed it also seemed “overwhelmed.”
So about the bypass function: When it is switched on (which I only recommend in summer), the heat exchanger is bypassed until the supply air reaches the set temperature. Concrete example: Bypass set to 22 degrees. It is 4:00 a.m. in July, and the supply air temperature (and thus outside temperature) is 17 degrees Celsius. The ventilation unit now leads this air past the heat exchanger and into the building. This results in a certain cooling function in summer – hence the synonym “summer operation.” Conversely, on a hot July day, the following happens: At 33 degrees outside temperature, the heat exchanger is opened again so that the 24-degree “cold” exhaust air from the house cools the 33-degree warm supply air a bit. Of course, this only works within certain limits, and after three days well over 30 degrees outside temperature, it doesn’t matter anyway because it’s hot inside and outside. But that said, your bypass basically works as it should.
As for the modes, I can tell you little because I haven’t tested anything yet. The menu in the web interface is not always easy to understand but combined with the manual, it should work, right?
*Edit:
I often turn off the ventilation during the day in summer so that I don’t suck too much warm air into the house. Because, as said, from about 30 degrees outside temperature you inevitably increase the room temperature inside the house.
