How do we learn to see? Dark earth, bright sky. In forested areas, Harz or so, black-brown-greenish shimmering. In areas with open horizons that becomes a flood of light. Therefore, I believe the people from Harz decorate with darker wood, more hollow-like than we Schleswig-Holsteiners. But dark ceilings are a complete no-go against any visual aesthetics. KarstenSolid wood house: glued laminated beam ceiling on the ground floor, wooden beam ceiling on the upper floor. Both painted with white pigmented paint with UV protection so that they do not darken further. Since cherry parquet is also laid everywhere (except in the bathrooms and hallway), a dark ceiling would have been too much for me. I can provide pictures if desired.
