Good day. I hope I am in the right category here. In my condominium (4 years old), I noticed in the kitchen that the ceiling plaster is partly peeling off slightly. The humidity in the apartment is rather low. Usually max. 40%. Ventilation is done regularly (shock ventilation). I also have a range hood. The kitchen is used rather rarely. Room temperature is normally 21 degrees. The ceiling does not feel damp. But in one spot (approx. 20x20cm) you can see that the plaster is slightly coming off and slightly discolored. What could be the reason? What could I do myself here? Unfortunately, I cannot upload a photo. That does not work. I am retired. Many thanks.

Nice to have found this forum here even as a retiree ;)

Is it really the plaster or the paint/wallpaper?

If the condo is only 5 years old, it should still be under warranty. So the company would be responsible for any defects.

Maybe there is a craftsman living in the house who could take a first look at it?

Otherwise, it wouldn't hurt to call the construction company or possibly send an informal letter with a photo.

Hello The form oil was not properly removed. This is a case of warranty. Steven

Hello Steven. Thank you for your information. But what is form oil? We have normal concrete ceilings everywhere, which only have a white "coating." What else can be done there? I will report this under the warranty.

Thank you

Hello. It is a completely normal concrete ceiling with white paint! I mean plaster. It could also be white paint. Not embossed wallpaper plaster. Smooth plaster/paint! No wallpaper. Thank you

Could also have been painter's fleece used, if it is that smooth... It's the same for me (in the condominium).
