Hello,

My girlfriend insists on laying carpet flooring in our kitchen. I find that impractical because if something falls, you can immediately see a stain.

How can I dissuade her from this idea?

What suggestions do you have?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Roman,

A carpet in the kitchen looks really disgusting. When frying, the fat splashes out of the pan and onto the carpet. In no time it looks dirty. Talk it over with her, because she won’t be happy with a carpet in the kitchen anymore.

Best regards

The carpet in the kitchen does not stay clean for long and gets dirty quickly. That is why I do not have a carpet in the kitchen. In the kitchen, there must be a floor that can be wiped quickly. So discuss that among yourselves.

Hello Roman,

I can understand your girlfriend not wanting to have PVC flooring. That is not a pleasant sight. But carpet flooring is also not a good solution. Or laminate could be put in the kitchen. It is warm on the feet and the laminate always looks clean.

Best regards

Hi, I had a carpet in my old kitchen. But I quickly took it out again. After a short time it already had stains and that is inevitable in the kitchen. Something can always fall down there and then it gets permanently on the carpet. So not a good idea. BG

Hello,

If your girlfriend insists on having a carpet in the kitchen, then she should use one that can also be washed. There are also rugs and these can be wonderfully washed in the machine. I find that this is also better than a glued carpet.

Best regards
