Actually, you’re at the right age to start a family. That’s why I think the idea is great. But you can also fall flat on your face (even later, but the older you get, the more stable the relationship usually is) and such a mega project is existential then. How about wedding, kids, tralala?

How did you actually envision the ownership arrangements? I read here unmarried, young, your parental home which is actually worth more (=gift) ... lots of potential for conflict.

The ownership structures, parental leave and the resulting burden, check that, calculate it for yourselves. We Germans should be much bolder when it comes to acquiring property, but in my mid-20s I was not that far yet.

I think the background of all the questions asked is rather meant to make you think:
Do I want to take out an ~110% financing in my early to mid-20s, living in a "common-law marriage," which will last longer than I have currently spent on the face of the Earth?
