Yep, but every repair comes out of your wallet. Heating, windows or whatever. Your house is then already "old". As a tenant, I no longer have anything to do with that.

There was once an effort by banking supervision that de facto contained that. But it was quickly overturned again. However, the rumor persists. A completely different idea. If the current apartment fits and if you don't want a big house now or in old age, why not buy a small apartment for Grandma. Ideally, then finance it with Grandma’s housing allowance and the tax office.
