Oh, should I then better avoid the confusion that there is both an overlap as well as, besides solid stone and wood frame panel, also solid wood (?) Have you seen the plots both in person and confirmed that they are owned by the seller? - otherwise I recommend entering "11ant Leerverkauf" in the forum search, where I have explained the farmer scam (spread over several sources) - caution, some links sometimes break, then you have to manually convert the "threads" in the URL to lowercase.

Maybe I’m just seeing ghosts again, ;-) but would you like to quickly, just to be sure, check the municipality’s website or call there to ask if the plots really belong to Town & Country? I mention this because it is standard practice for many house sellers to "attach themselves" to private or municipal plots and create the impression that they are their own plots in order to sell a house.

... it is actually quite rare for GUs to buy plots. It is more common that they only offer them for the marketing of their houses.

I will definitely do that. The city itself also has additional plots independently of this. I will inquire there early next week.

Thank you for the tip. I will read through it.

In principle, it would certainly make more sense to save up more money first, but that is not really possible due to the current housing situation and the long commutes to work. The housing market in Wismar is not exactly great, which is why we have ruled out moving to another apartment (although that was exactly our plan last summer). Changing jobs is also not an option, as it took *a long time* for us to get into the public sector, since we studied something completely different. In the private sector, we would currently have just about 3000 net together.

Since nothing will change, we can hardly save more money than we currently do (about 1000 EUR per month, if the cars don't need maintenance). So better to go straight into home ownership than to continue transferring money to the landlord's account.

Take a look at the bungalow 100 at TuC. That would surely suit you well. You can also change all the interior walls with it, which doesn’t cost much (750 € flat rate and a few € more if you need extra wall material, but not much). It was offered to us for just under 200,000 €, but that included the slab foundation, underfloor heating, and everything we needed; only the earthworks would have been an additional cost. Our main problem was that they have a long lead time, so we wouldn’t have been able to build with them this year anymore, or at most by the end of the year. Just go to them and get an offer made. Otherwise, I don’t see the additional costs as being as "dramatic" as described here. You can also initially use a second-hand kitchen and used lamps, a wooden terrace can be had for a few hundred €, you can sow the lawn yourself, and plants for the garden are often sold cheaply in classified ads; there are even plant markets twice a year where private individuals sell to private individuals. You can also do the driveway and garage in a few years, as the money becomes available. I wouldn’t give up the dream of owning a home just because of the additional costs.
