Does anyone here even know any statistical data?
We already discussed this in another topic. There is data from the Federal Statistical Office from 2010:
- 11 million households own their own house
- Another 6 million households own a condominium (ETW).
- Together we have 17 million households that own property
- The average income (net) across all household sizes is 2,970 euros.
- For households with 3, 4, or 5 or more members (so-called "families") it is 3,700/4,100/4,500 euros net on average
- 3.7 million households have a net income above 4,500 euros (21.7% of owners)
- 6.6 million households have a net income above 3,200 euros (38.8% of owners)
- 11.5 million households have a net income above 2,000 euros (67.6% of owners)
- 5.5 million are below that (32.4% of owners)
- 356,000 households with 5 or more persons have an income of 4,500 euros and more (2% of owners)
- 581,000 households with 5 or more persons have an income of 3,200 euros and more (3.4% of owners)
- 783,000 households with 5 or more persons have an income of 2,000 euros and more (4.6% of owners)
- 831,000 households with 4 persons have an income of 4,500 euros and more (4.9% of owners)
- 1.6 million households with 4 persons have an income of 3,200 euros and more (9.4% of owners)
- 2.3 million households with 4 persons have an income of 2,000 euros and more (13.5% of owners)
- 766,000 households with 3 persons have an income of 4,500 euros and more (4.5% of owners)
- 1.5 million households with 3 persons have an income of 3,200 euros and more (8.8% of owners)
- 2.4 million households with 3 persons have an income of 2,000 euros and more (14.1% of owners)
One can conclude, with regard to the discussion here, that just a little more than 11% of all owners have an income above 4,500 euros. The 4,080 euros mentioned here for a family of four exactly matches the average for this household size.
