Wild camera! With a neighbor like that, you need a wild camera!

Within our family, we were able to observe the fight for a building gap next to us. Near the center with a view, leftover plot like a towel, you have to be lucky if you can even set foot there.

Here a wealthy old owner who did not want the densification. Of course, he could have acquired the towel, but not at meadow price. He scared away two interested buyers some time after the purchase, one of whom managed to return the plot. The third has now moved in. Permissible, yes - mandatory was that in every attempt. The one who moved in now is young, extremely assertive, and financially strong. The senior had very good connections (was therefore a feared opponent for some), was willing and eager to spend - and lost. The young one lives uninterested in the older, the older is deeply annoyed by that. Who will have the upper hand is already biologically foreseeable.
In a situation where the new owner has to take the plot, it certainly works, but I think you really need thick skin for that.
Many greetings Gabriele

Interesting post, thanks! The conclusion comes across very well: after all, you want to feel comfortable there and not argue permanently.

Your neighbor will only be able to challenge the building permit through a third-party annulment action. In doing so, he would have to claim that his own rights are being violated. Since you are complying with the regulations and hopefully the building authority has not made any mistakes either, it will, however, be quite difficult for him to get a foot in the door. (Now just based on what I just read). Easier said than done, but: try not to let yourselves get too worked up about it. If the neighbor should still go to a lawyer with his fixed idea and the lawyer examines the matter, he will probably tell him how the chances of success look. And then he will probably reconsider. Such a legal dispute not only gets on your nerves but also on your money!
