Hello dear ones,
since my parents are a bit hesitant to consult an expert and I don’t really have any knowledge on the subject either, I’m just going to ask you now, maybe someone knows something :)
So, my parents have been planning for some time to extend their house and put a sauna in this extension. Now, such a sauna has a significantly different kind of moisture exposure than a normal bathroom (warmer, of course) - how do you best handle the insulation so that the walls don’t mold from the inside?
I also tried to educate myself a bit via Google, but I really didn’t find an answer :( For the individual products like mortar, plaster, concrete, etc., it always says something about capillary water absorption/water absorption coefficient and something about water vapor – what that is, and whether a high or low value is positive or negative, I haven’t really understood yet.
In my logic, the exposure of moisture with air to a wall means that mold forms over time, but maybe it also goes in a totally different direction..
I also already mentioned this once at the hardware store, but the salesman looked at me as if I didn’t have all my screws loose..
Please, can someone explain this to me? :/
