Good evening,
my wife and I are considering building a container house on top of a large garage and I thought I’d ask here why that wouldn’t work.
Our initial idea is three high-cube containers as living space, which means the dimensions are 12x7.29x2.90 m. The garage should provide enough space for two cars, a technical room, a small workshop and a separate staircase. Additionally, there should be a roof terrace next to the containers. We also thought that the containers could extend a few meters beyond the garage.
Unfortunately, I haven’t found any suitable information online about the costs for such a garage. Does anyone have any immediate thoughts on what might go wrong, what the price per sqm for the garage might be, and what else we might have overlooked to realistically assess this idea?
Kind regards readytolive
