Good day.
I am new here and wanted to seek advice.
I have already found some great tips here using the search function.
But this "problem" has not been addressed yet.

I have already spoken to my roller shutter installer. He does not want to take any action.

Problem:
When looking from outside at the glass upwards towards the roller shutter box (roller shutters obviously rolled up), I notice that the white metal strips (about 3 cm wide with brush seal) do not adjoin the roller shutter but end about 3 cm before it!
You can see a gap between the roller shutter and the start of the brush seal.
This large gap invites bees, etc., to get into the roller shutter box...
Not to mention the heat loss...

My roller shutter installer says "That is normal."
Another roller shutter installer says, "The metal strip with the brush seal attached must almost touch the roller shutter. The gap is much too large. The metal strip must be replaced. It's no problem. Just a wider one. Then the brush seal almost touches the roller shutter."

Before I call in an expert, I want to get information here.

Thank you very much
Herbert

Whether this constitutes a defect I am unable to assess. What I wonder is why no roller shutter end rail with stop angle and rubber seal was installed there. In my opinion, that would already solve the problem.

Hello Sigi. Thank you for the information. A roller shutter end rail is already installed (not clearly visible in the photo). But it goes towards the window pane! I would have also thought that if the end rail went inward, it would cover the gap when the shutter is raised. (But then a gap would be visible from the outside.) However, according to the photo, the end rail goes about 2 cm outward... Could it be that it was installed the wrong way around? PS: They are electric roller shutters!
