I think I wouldn’t make a complete window opaque either. Since for me it’s only the lower, fixed-glass half, you can easily look outside from the top. Only when you get up from the toilet, you don’t immediately see the pants pulled down... "Topless" I could surely jump around to the delight (well...) of the neighbors. There is still a roller blind at the top.

In the toilet downstairs, I have a pleated blind; that’s the newest acquisition. That works well, I just put it up when it’s dark outside.

I have the decorative glass 4 times in the house, all in one piece, just as described it. Among other places, also in the light opening of the bathroom door.

Yes, you can see that someone is currently sitting on the toilet and also whether it is a man or a woman.

Thanks to this discussion, I have changed my mind and we will now order the bathroom window clear and have it tinted to keep all options open.

Years ago, I installed a semi-satin glass pane in a customer's bathroom. Maybe it's interesting for one or another.

We will also satinize a pane in the house with foil. However, not in the bathroom but in the stairwell. Larger panes exposed to strong sunlight should not be only half satinized. Strongly different heating can lead to stress cracks. With smaller panes, it should not be a problem.
