Hello,

we are building a house from the developer and I do not like the current planning of the bathroom (en suite). The bathroom is 2.9m x 2.6m and intended only for us parents. The bathtub will be used as long as the children are still small. I estimate that the connections/layout are still freely placeable. The window is floor-to-ceiling.

I would like to include a walk-in shower option (width 85cm, length 1m), but I know it is problematic due to the available space. I am also considering whether a more compact bathtub or even a shower-bathtub combination makes sense :/

How would you design the bathroom?

If you move the sink around the corner next to the window, you have room for a bigger shower. If none of that pleases you and there is no more space, I would possibly do without the parent/child bathroom and just make one large one. Is there still a WC on the ground floor where a shower would fit? Or are you a real big family (3+ children), then more bathrooms naturally make more sense.

Here is another idea... unfortunately the spacing between cannot be measured...

The bathtub where the toilet is now?

And do you want the bathtub just because of the children or do you also bathe yourselves?

How long does a bathtub have to be for you anyway?
The 265 cm wall ... if you subtract a door with some space and frames, there are at most 165 cm left.

I doubt that the toilet can be placed on the exterior wall without a good reason.

How about the following order

Shower where the bathtub was before
then sink
then toilet
Bathtub on the wall with the window

Given the room dimensions, I would make the shower with two glass walls; leaving it open is not an option because water would splash out.

Edit: first of all, it really needs to be clarified which connections can be moved!
