OT: I think the storage options are good and the pantry is also wonderful. Our current one is only 8sqm, the washing machine is in there too – and it’s too small ;) The new one will be bigger and the machine will be moved out. But if I just think about what we have in there as a 2-person household: various cases of water, cola, beer, boxes of wine, champagne, juice, a few boxes with baking ingredients, canned goods, potatoes, onions, garlic, milk and cream, pasta and rice, different flours and grains for baking bread, sugar... Also many homemade things like jam, fruit, and ready meals. And another shelf with drugstore items, sponges, soaps, tissues, dishwasher tablets, etc.
Although I admit that I like to shop in a way that we can go a month without entering a supermarket. I personally think that’s good and saves a lot of money – although in summer most of the food grows in the garden anyway ;)
From my point of view, especially when there is no basement and it is financially possible, there cannot be enough storage rooms. Items like beverage crates, Christmas decorations, winter sports equipment, etc. are often overlooked during planning and then squeezed in somewhere. For me as a tidying dyslexic, there can never be enough storage. Even without big collecting passions. (says the woman who currently occupies 12sqm of dressing room including a 4m long clothes rail...)
