Otherwise, I would have thought that shelves could be integrated into the slanted wall (where there is more meat). But I could also leave the shower on the 1.4m long side, then make the wall between the shower and the tub a bit thicker and integrate shelves there. Towel holder is a good tip, that would make sense. So far, I throw the towel over the shower wall at the top.

So our shower is 1.0 x 1.30. I haven’t put the door on yet and quite a bit is already splashing out. It also stays warmer in the shower with the door on...

That of course always depends on the shower habits, the shower head, and the drain. We had an open shower with a side length of 1.20m in our old apartment. If you placed a small mat in front of it, that was also okay. Meanwhile, we have the open shower with a straight wall of 1.45m and a side exit (I have also uploaded the plan here somewhere). Due to a really good drain, hardly any water splashes from the floor anymore, so that after 1.40m there are hardly any water splashes.

Yes, the topic of temperature inside the shower is of course really not to be underestimated... I also think that at 1.4m only a little water will spurt out, provided you have the showerhead on the short side.

Our shower is basically 1.3 "deep", meaning there is a 1.30 wall on the left and right with a width of 1.00. At the 1.00 side at the back is the shower (Hansgrohe Raindance Select E 360 1jet Showerpipe) and at the back is also the Aco shower drain. The problem is not that the water doesn't drain quickly enough and flow out, but that it simply splashes out about 30cm, although not a lot... I just wanted to say, if the shower isn't about 175, it will probably always splash out a bit...
