Hi everyone,

first of all, many thanks for the many helpful infos! I am (also thanks to your help) now at the point of foregoing the additional interior insulation in the basement. For a better living room climate (+ possibly better acoustics) I only want to equip Hobby Room 1 and possibly the basement hallway with drywall panels (or Fermacell panels). The question here would be whether I can even simply glue these panels. It should be fairly straight and even walls with the prefabricated basement. Then I could have the flush-mounted electrical installation prepared at the factory and glue the panels directly onto the walls, which would save space. The roughly 1cm thickness for the panels should not be a problem for the installation of the electrical system, right?
Thanks in advance.

We are facing a similar problem. Although we do not want underfloor heating in the basement, the architect informed us that according to the current Energy Saving Ordinance every new basement must be insulated. As life goes, apparently every general contractor insulates differently. No. 1 does perimeter insulation 100mm all around, plus 80mm under the slab. No. 2 wants internal insulation 100mm around and under the basement hallway. No. 3 only writes something about wall insulation 5mm bitumen boards. No. 4 specifies a double bitumen coating as insulation. All this leads to slight confusion. In my opinion, the Energy Saving Ordinance should have clearly regulated since 2016 how strongly insulation has to be done. Especially if everyone is pouring a watertight basement with 30cm and the same static/ energy consumption specifications.

Double bitumen coating as insulation, cool. That one is already out for me.

The architect is to blame for this, because
- offers are blindly obtained here that obviously are not based on a uniform scope of services. Different versions are not comparable.
- to determine the insulation thicknesses, a (preliminary) thermal protection certificate must be created. The architect specifies the constructive execution in the scope of services, the construction companies submit offers based on this (or ask questions, suggest more cost-effective executions). This is at best a dialogue.

She must be a strange architect - whoever’s profession includes the tendering process should actually know how to do it.

Well, maybe she wanted to save time, but it is still annoying. Unfortunately, we do not know approximately what the insulation work will cost, otherwise one could calculate the work down or up for each insulation variant. Well, with a bit of luck we will get the structural analysis and energy demand calculation in the next few weeks.
