Basement construction - costs for shoring the excavation pit in boundary development?

we will be building soon. (like so many here..
Our house will be built in boundary construction next to a garage that was supposedly founded deep enough for neighboring construction. Unfortunately, no one from the construction company remembers exactly how it was done - it will probably become clear once the excavator starts.

I am trying to get an idea of how high the costs could climb if it turns out that the garage has to be supported / braced? Our adjacent house wall will be 10m long, the garage is about 6.5m long plus 2m of path in front....

I wouldn’t see any logical reason why the existing garage should be founded at the depth of a basement; unless it is basemented?

Your house - here the basement floor slab - has to be founded on undisturbed ground. This means, depending on the height of the basement clear height, at least 3.00 m must be dug deep; plus an all-around working space, backfilled according to the soil surveyor’s specifications. The garage - if only superficial, i.e., without a basement - must be prevented from settling. These supports should sensibly be carried upwards starting from the basement floor slab.

For a house that needs to be braced, I would always expect additional costs of about EUR 8-9 thousand; including earthworks. The garage is not as significant as a house, but I could imagine you should plan in the area of EUR 1.0-1.5 thousand.
