I don't understand what the provocatively ironic question is supposed to mean, but yes, (Thanks @toxic) I meant the internal vibrator, needle vibrator, concrete vibrator or whatever you want to call the device. On our construction site, the workers simply called it "vibrator."

The device for compacting, e.g., sand, is called a "vibratory plate" here. Unfortunately, I am not always aware of the technically correct terms for this industry, but presumably almost everyone otherwise knew what was meant by "vibrator."
