Hello everyone,
we are building with GU. Today I "surprisingly" found out that the base plaster waterproofing is our responsibility.
My gardener thinks that the external plasterer should do it. He can then also guarantee his entire trade. In an emergency, he (gardener) can also do it.
The gardener's offer (around 2000€) is almost twice as expensive as the plasterer's (1000€). The gardener is somewhat more reliable for me.
Question:
- who did it for you?
- with what (black bitumen, mineral cement...)
- what is your experience? Is this work so dangerous (because of warranty) that no one wanted to do it? I don't necessarily want to risk it for 1000€.
Thanks for your answer.

Applying it is very easy, but now it is actually already too cold for it.

We built with Heinz von Heiden and used Kellerdicht from Alsecco, since Heinz von Heiden used their products and we wanted to stay within the system. Alsecco offers two similar suitable products for this purpose. It is sold directly and is not for laypeople. If you ask politely, you will still be very well taken care of there.

I applied it in multiple layers down to over the beveled insulation boards. Above, I applied it up to just above the splash guard edge. You really can’t get the brush clean.

Can’t you leave it open until spring?

Best regards
Gabriele

Both are required. The plasterer does the first sealing and then the base plaster over it. The landscaper must apply the bitumen coating. Only he can do that, as the terrain modeling can only start afterwards.

The plasterer does not know the later terrain heights.

Thank you very much for your answer. Yes, we are also building with Heinz von Heiden. Do you mean Waterstop Kellerdicht W (I found it with the help of Google). And you are right, the base plaster is from Alsecco. Therefore, thanks to your recommendation, I would also like to use that. According to the datasheet, it should/must not be applied below 5 degrees :((
We would rather not wait until spring, because access is already difficult due to the slope location. What did you pay back then? How much do you need for it? What color is it?

here also Heinz von Heiden. my neighbor is a mason, so a professional. I got Schomburg Aquafina 2k sealing slurry, the neighbor applied it for me. A bit higher on the original base. Let's see if I have a picture....

the dark gray is the sealing slurry.

he advised against bitumen, afterwards you look like a mess ;-) and depending on the facade, you can also ruin it if you don’t be extremely careful.

We built a massive house with a basement. Directly after plastering, the landscaper started at the beginning of September. We had early contact with both the landscaper and the plasterer. For the heights of the plaster, the plasterer initially asked us to mark the planned heights on the shell construction. He then plastered about 15 cm below that. When the landscaping began, the landscaper marked the final height and the plasterer applied a sealing slurry on the plaster up to slightly above that. The landscaper then modeled the terrain, partially sealed it with bitumen, and applied a dimpled membrane against it. After the landscaping was completed, the plasterer painted over the mineral coating that was still visible in white.
