Banvel M or other agents against dandelion/clover - bird-friendly

Hello everyone,

does anyone of you know about Compo Banvel M? My lawn consists more of dandelions than grass, which is related to the fact that behind our property there is a nature reserve meadow that is naturally overflowing with dandelions, wonderfully yellow in spring but with unfavorable wind it naturally blows over to us. We sprayed once two years ago, this year I intended to dig it all out, but of my 400 sqm lawn I have only worked on 150 sqm within 2 days and collected 3 wheelbarrows full, which naturally leaves more holes than anything else and you can't completely get every root anyway.

Now we have many birds here like blackbirds for example that hop over the lawn and pull earthworms out of the ground. If I now walk around in the evening with the sprayer, that probably isn't so good for them when they walk over afterwards and pull the earthworm out of the soil while it nicely slides along the soaked dandelion leaf, right? Unfortunately you don't read anything about this on the Compo website or the packaging, only a few animal species like some spider for example are mentioned there.

Do you know any alternatives that don't harm the birds if Banvel M is harmful to them?

I think it's great that you want to use less poison, because of course, even if it says "bee-friendly," it's still poison.

Sorry in advance if you don't want to read this -
if you like blooming meadows, why not have one yourself?
I also find just dandelions rather boring - a mix of the plants that the stuff is supposed to destroy, on the other hand, looks very appealing. And then you only need to mow 1-2 times a year. That gives you plenty of free time to enjoy your garden.

Or do you need a lawn as a play area for children? Then you could alternate mowing the area.

Otherwise, I only see the way of a dense, tall hedge to the nature reserve meadow, so that as few seeds as possible can fly over to you, giving you a chance when selectively uprooting.

read the Wiki article on glyphosate. of the poisons probably one of the least harmful. alternatively lawn mower robots. they are supposed to drive away the weeds by cutting 2-3 times per week...

Hello

well, here in NBG we have many robotic mowers running, for example my parents do too dandelions and such grow flat and are therefore unreachable for the robotic mower. Many people had high hopes for them, but I think they also mow too low, so that the lawn cannot spread and take away space from the weeds

Even if it is tedious at first, I would continue to dig out dandelions and then plant other wild herbs that you like instead: as a rule, nature finds its own balance over time. I experienced this in my 700 square meter garden area, only that pigweed was too dominant instead of dandelions.

Regarding glyphosate: well, Wikipedia is not the truth (the wonderful idea of an independent platform has long since died), an additional proof is when glyphosate is dismissed as harmless.
