Hello.
Our general contractor pointed out the topic of sound insulation and recommended the following to us. We are not extremely sensitive, but we also do not want the house to be unnecessarily prone to noise transmission. Therefore, my request to you is to give your opinion on this. It concerns a single-family house with 2 full floors.

Exterior walls: 17.5 cm hollow brick brand unipor with ETICS
Interior walls: 11.5 cm calcium silicate brick RDK 2.0
Floor slabs: precast concrete elements (filigree slab)
Interior doors: tube-frame doors
Bathroom interior door (washing machine + dryer): climate protection door with sound insulation class 1 with Schallex
Utility room interior door (gas heating, controlled residential ventilation): climate protection door with sound insulation class 1 with Schallex

What do you think about this? Can one be satisfied with this if one is "averagely" sensitive? I know sensitivities are subjective. Nevertheless, I am interested in your opinion.

If using ETICS anyway, then calcium silicate brick behind it. In my opinion, it only has advantages, especially when it comes to sound now.

Use solid core interior doors. What about the windows?

I have never had a problem with soundproofing in a masonry single-family house, as long as it is not in an annoying location like near an airport or heavy traffic. Only with prefabricated houses have I noticed this negatively once or twice, but I wouldn’t generalize that either.

Whether with sand-lime brick or brick, you will not have any problems with soundproofing in a quiet location... The weak points are elsewhere anyway... e.g. the windows.

We haven't gone through the windows yet with the general contractor.

Just for understanding... Are solid core doors those climate protection doors with sound insulation class 1 and the Schallex floor seal? We were told that hollow core doors would already be an advanced class in terms of soundproofing.

Both can have good and bad sound insulation. You can't really determine it based on Vollspan or Röhrenspan.

No idea what climate protection doors are :) Google the structure of [Röhrenspan] and [Vollspan]. [Vollspantüren] are fully filled = more/continuous mass = sound insulation.
