We only automated the roller shutters in our first house and had a system from a medium-sized company in Lower Saxony. It is called HEYtec Roller Shutter Control. We were very satisfied with it until the end. We planned it from the beginning, it was easy to program ourselves, and later an app was added. If we hadn’t decided on the KNX system for the second house, it would have been a control system from them again. We never had any problems, you could always call if you had questions, and once the boss even came by personally. Configurations could be easily changed via PC, you could give each roller shutter a different configuration, as mentioned, we were very satisfied. Maybe that’s an option for you.

Depending on the type of switch material used, Merten Wiser would be a very good option. Here, you only need to replace the conventional blinds switches with the Wiser switches. Additionally, this system offers the possibility to make the house "smart" step by step.

I didn't know that at all. But isn't it the same as Shelly, except that it's a closed system and expensive (and runs over Zigbee)? So just a conventional roller shutter installation, put the actuator behind the switch/button, control it via an app?

I had cables laid for each roller shutter 20 years ago and a switch installed at the window so they can be controlled individually. A central switch controls all 11 windows with one button. The additional cost was about 4k. I also had a repair where the motor replacement cost 500 euros.

Such an investment is worth every euro. 20 * 365 = 7300 times 11 roller shutters * 2 equals 160,600 roller shutter operations. ;)

There are also Shellys for the DIN rail with LAN connection, which is already a usable solution. Shellys have long since ceased to be just WLAN gadgets for behind the switch.

We have 1x control unit (Kaisernienhaus approx. €600) in the cabinet and a Kaiser multiple control unit €20 each installed on every roller blind.
Thus, every roller blind switch can control any roller blind configuration on request. 3/5 open/close or all open/close etc.
Requires a J-Y(ST)Y & NYM cable to control units/switches.
Additional costs approximately €1000

Personally, I wanted switches and no app; if ever later, the €20 each will be replaced by Shellys etc.
