How long did you actually search for such a plot? - I get annoyed with almost every development plan that lists roof shapes about the ignorance of the existence of this roof shape.
The plot was a lucky hit. About three quarters of a year passed from the decision to enlarge the living space to the notary appointment. During this time we initially viewed rental apartments, renovation projects, model houses, condominiums, so basically everything the market had to offer, and nothing really appealed to us. After 3 months of daily searching, I then started to include building land in my search spectrum. After another 3 months of realizing that building land in the Berlin urban area is simply too expensive for us, I expanded my search radius to the Brandenburg surroundings near Berlin and a week later the plot suddenly appeared online. We were then the first willing to pay the asking price and got a notary appointment, so we were lucky to secure the deal. According to reports from our neighbors, the number of interested parties was quite large. That it was an older gap in building and therefore could be built on according to §34 was also lucky. We were a bit nervous when we asked the building authority whether a mansard roof was possible, since in our neighborhood only gable roofs and city villas with tent roofs are found. However, at the building authority, our request was welcomed. They were almost glad that it wasn’t someone else with the Flair 134 (nothing against the Flair) again and appreciated our concept.
