Good evening Werner,
Whether you might not want to use a retractable attic ladder (BET) or a spiral staircase in the coming years *perhaps* doesn’t make a difference. Neither is really easy to use, even with a healthy "bone structure."
I reacted to the following statement in combination with your introduction that an architect gave a well-founded refusal to your fundamental request:
I have consciously not yet sought an appointment at the building authority in order not to wake sleeping dogs; I would be very grateful for any friendly and competent advice.............
That has a "funny taste" for me, and I formulated that briefly and to the point.
If it were *only* about the attic, you could leave everything as it is; you won’t use it that often. In contrast to the BET, a spiral staircase is also open upwards – you’re not seriously going to tell me that you want a permanently open access to the attic?
I wouldn’t know where I was being unfriendly. You may not like my interpretation of your question, that may well be; however, a forum is not a wish concert. Your reaction now shows me that I am not really on the wrong track.
Rhenish greetings
