Simply drill, it won't chip off, not even with impact. But if the material is really like pavement / curb and you need 5 minutes for one hole, you simply need a decent drill. In such material, a proper hammer drill goes through like butter. Does the lamp work with solar? There apparently is no electricity there. I see it as a gimmick anyway, the thing will not provide permanent light.

Yes, yes, that works well. We have already tested it. It goes into a dim mode with low light and into strong light when there is movement. The battery lasts very long. That will definitely work. What do you consider a usable drill? Edit: “Power” is already available on the other side of the post; there is a KNX motion detector for the lighting of the driveway.

Quality from Hilti, Single drill bit 10€, set 30€. If you want to attach a lamp to the concrete ceiling and metal shavings and stone dust come out alternately, and you need 5-10 seconds per hole

What do you use then? Actually, any hammer drill should get through that quite easily. If it has to be cordless, it needs to be something heavier-duty, those cordless screwdrivers with drilling function are more for very soft material. That's great then. Drill through the whole post once and you have power. I would then install something very compact, then you really have peace of mind. Just google Lucande Lengo. It is a bit too wide, but something along those lines is what I mean.

Correct drill (e.g. Hilti), drill without hammer mode and then continue slowly. Of course, you can drill the hole quickly but I wouldn't risk it. Alternatively, there is also mounting adhesive (over 300kg/10cm2) that holds very well. Actually, it is enough if you make a hole in the middle. Then seal/bond with silicone, PU, mounting adhesive.
